 Is it possible to add a down load feature for a moblie device, ie smartphone and/or Palm? It would be great to take my list with me when shopping/tasting. I have been using your site for quite a while now and love it. I recommend it to all. Here is a picture of the wine racks I built under my stairs when we added a second story. The wood is recyeled redwood decking from my backyard. (Show Me!)

I would love to see a BottleCount iPhone app that would link directly to my BC account, for easy lookup when I'm at the wine store.

I have been unable to add bottles for the last 3 weeks. UPC lookup works fine, but when I press the button to add the item to my cellar listing it fails to save it. I have this same issue with both Firefox3.0, IE7 and IE6. What's up with the site. Is it being maintained?

Ok, I finally broke down and went and spent $10 on eBay to by myself a CueCat so I could bulk enter my cellar of about 350 bottles. I plugged it into two separate PC's, one running Vista, the other XP. In both cases the O/S reported finding new hardware and installed drivers and advised the installation was successful. I have tried to use the CueCat with both PC's and the Bottlecount web site to no effect. The CueCat lights up as I pass it over the barcode, but no input shows up in the CueCat field. What am I doing wrong?

Would it be possible to add a button to checkout a single bottle? Sometimes I want to drink my wine...
I'm thinking it should decrement the count, or remove the entry if it is the last bottle.

Just getting started here and pretty hopeful this will be what I'm looking for. Thanks to Mr. Dole for putting it together and keeping it going.
Question:
One enters "Wine Name" and "Winery" into two different fields in the "Add a Wine to Your Cellar" form, which is great. Then, however, in the one's cellar listings the winery name and the wine name appear together (winery name first) in a column called "Wine." The problem I'm having with this is that I cannot, then, sort by "Wine Name." I can't, for instance, see all Batard-Montrachet's grouped together. Because the name of the winery does come first in this column called "Wine," I can sort by winery, but even that would be cleaner if each of "Wine Name" and "Winery" could have their own sortable cellar listing column. Maybe this is all possible and I'm just not seeing it.

Hey everybody. Some spammer flooded the message board with about 40 spam messages with links to porn sites. This means that everyone that had checked "E-mail me notifications of replies" got an email telling them to check out the forum.
I think I deleted them all, but if you find one I missed please let me know ASAP.
I have now disabled the ability to post without logging in as a Bottlecount user. Hopefully this is enough of a deterrent.

I am a new user and want to catalog my growing collection in the easiest way possible. I see your information about scanning the UPC bar codes, but it seems quite out of date as the cuecats are only available on ebay. Some have been modified to operate as a regular scanner. Should I get one of these? Should I get a different one? Is the functionality still the same?
Can't wait to get organized on bottlecount!

When I go to reports...winery...I can click on any winery except one and it will bring up all of the wines from that winery...the winery I click on has 10 bottles but none show. Any help in fixing this would be appreciated.

I wanted to let everyone know that Bottlecount.com is back up.
What happened, was that the server that hosts Bottlecount.com got hacked. No Bottlecount data was compromised (it gets backed up nightly anyway). Instead the hacker was more interested in flooding somebody's network than doing any damage to our server. Precautions are being taken to make sure this does not happen again.
This should not have taken this long, and for that I apologize. It has been a very crazy month. By day I'm the VP of Technology at Topix.net and that keeps me pretty busy.

Hi,
I've got numbered boxes with various wine, and I use the Location field to store that information. Currently, when I sort by the Location field, it returns them out of numerical order, so that "10" comes before "1". Any way that can be fixed?

Post any features that you would like to see added to BottleCount here.
For instance if your favorite wine region or grape varietal is missing from the "Add a Wine" pulldowns post them here and I'll add them to the list.

I really like the concept of this site.
In trying to enter my cellar the majority of the numbers on my bottles are an EAN rather than UCP. I have had a quick look around and cannot find anyway to easily convert the number. (It is easy to convert from UCP to EAN).
Has anyone else had this problem?
