| Your notes are right on. I was only able to give it about 45 minutes of air, so for me, the heat and tannic finish was certainly very noticeable, but the tannins were fairly smooth and silky. The nose was intoxicating and truly promises alot. The dark fruit on the palate delivers what the nose promises, but this wine needs more time. I agree with Bud and wait 3 years before I try the next one. I'll say 92pts now, but it will likely go up a couple of points with time |

| Oh my God...What a wine!! This one was simply unbelievable. Hugely complex, expressive nose nose offering all kinds of nuances. PApple, nectarines, smoke, roasted nuts, pears, lots of wet stone, you name it. From your first sniff of the wine, you know this is a great wine. My wife "complained" that this demands all your attention - not a simple Riesling to sip before dinner... Same on the palate, wave after wave of the most noble and complex riesling fruit with minerality to burn. Perfectly integrated sweetness and acidity - just pure harmony but with incredible intensity. Certainly the best white I had this year - but I haven't tasted the Hermannshöhle yet... My rating is probably a bit stingy because on that night it was simply the perfect Riesling for me. |

| The 2002 is indeed one of the greatest Cabernet Sauvignons I have ever tasted from California. Boasting enormous concentration, extraordinary complexity (roasted coffee notes intermixed with blueberry, blackberry, jus de viande, subtle smoky oak, and a wealth of spice), it possesses terrific fruit, extraordinary intensity, and an amazingly pure, rich, long (over 50 seconds), blockbuster finish.
